Hey there! I’m Julia, and for the past several years my life has been dedicated to exploring everything our beautiful planet has to offer. What started out as personal documentation, grew into something much bigger. With the knowledge and experience it’s brought me, I hope to share my story, and inspire others to get out there and live their dreams.

I grew up just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, and was lucky enough to be brought up by a family that cherished travel and the outdoors. This appreciation of nature at a young age fuelled my passion for it today. After dealing with personal struggles and feeling lost throughout my teenage years, I decided to take control of my own life and make a huge change. In 2015 I sold all my belongings and bought a one-way ticket to New Zealand, to embark on an adventure that would take me on a lap around the world, and ultimately change my life.  It was the start of an incredible two full years spent exploring, learning, documenting and I never looked back.

Travelling and being outdoors became a priority in my life because nothing can compare to experiencing the world first hand. It’s an indescribable feeling that I think everyone needs to know in their life time, and if we all did the world might be even better. Through all of this, I learned that enjoying the journey is the most important part, because if you don’t, the destination isn’t nearly as rewarding.

Throughout my early travels I fell in love with capturing those fleeting and awe-inspiring moments that change your life, because maybe there was a chance I could inspire others to get out and experience the same thing. At the time it was hard for me to put thoughts into words as I was on a journey of self discovery, and to me, a picture spoke louder than words.

Coming home felt like an even bigger change, because I had all this new knowledge and experience that I wanted to share and use but didn’t know how. I knew that a “regular” job wasn’t in the books for me, and that I would need to find a way to create something for myself. I began taking photography seriously, spending a majority of my time learning both it’s technical and artistic aspects through observation, online resources, and other creators.

Over the years I was able to combine my passion for both the outdoors and photography, and began documenting my experiences online.  As my account grew, and my work became recognized, I realized that turning this into a business was attainable. Now, I earn my living as a full time freelancer, who creates content while exploring our natural world.
